On the 12th of May 2021 the Danish Parliament agreed on making an independent inquiry regarding the ownership and insurance of Scandinavian Star.
The members of the independent Task Force regarding Scandinavian Star were assigned in October 2021 and the staff was hired in December 2021 and January 2022. The purpose of Task Force Scandinavian Star is to gain clarity about the ownership and insurance.
Scandinavian Star Task Force expect to be done with the report within one and a half year. The report will contain a reasons assessment on whether there is a basis for initiating a police investigation of matter that are not time-barred under criminal law. The Task Force can also during the inquiry evaluate if there is any reason for initiating a police investigation. The work of a possible police investigation can run parallel to the inquiry.
The members and the staff of the Task Force are hired because of their knowledge in relation to financial crime, investigation, criminal law and insurance law.
